Just for fun
Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far and the days happy adventurer was Julian Holdsworth who had made the trip up from Kirby Lonsdale. Todays journey will take him along to Ardrossan for the ferry to Arran, stopping to see friends in Thornhill along the way. With temperatures even higher today it should be quite a trek.
With his well worn cicerone guide to show him the way we wish Julian all the best for the rest of his trip.

Our First LeJog Cyclist
Our first end-to-end cyclist arrived yesterday. Cycling from Lands End to John 'O Groats.
Lone cyclist, and nice chap, Ian Broughton from Bristol started his journey on the 1st of May, so he has been on the road for a week with another 5 days to go.
Yesterdays journey took him from Kendal to here at Gretna Green. He was heading directly into strong winds over the high ground at Shap. Lets hope that todays journey to Lanark is a little better. Good luck for the rest of the trip.
Ian is raising money for cancer research. Visit his webpage at www.justgiving.com/iankb

Our First Cyclists
Our first cyclists. Lloyd and Karen Best. Travelling east to west rather than north to south and following the scottish border from Berwick to Gretna. So its good luck to them for their journey back again. Lloyd and Karen are keen cyclists who undertook lands end to john o groats last year. They enjoyed yesterdays journey through the border towns and said the roads were nice and quiet. The weather is good for the journey back where they will pick up their car in Berwick.
